Q. What does it cost per square foot to remodel?

A. When considering remodeling your home, you need to remember that
it isn't like going out and buying something off the shelf or out of a showroom.
There are no set per square foot costs in remodeling. Each project is unique
to you and your selections. One client may choose tile floors and another
stone. A project can have Stock cabinetry and the next project Custom
cabinetry and trims. Personal needs, preferences, material, size of project
and more contribute to the cost variations of each project. No two projects
are identical. Each is unique

Q. How long does it take to do a project?

A. Each project requires preparation and planning prior to construction
and then the construction can begin. The size, scope of work and details
in your particular project will determine how long it will take. We then add
additional days for unforeseen and the items that you may add after
construction begins. We a communicate the projected schedule for your
project well in advance of starting construction and keep you updated
as things progress.

Q. Do you do all the work yourself?

A. As a Design/ Build Contractor we will do some of the work in house
and some will be subcontracted. We only use high quality, licensed
(where applicable) and insured contractors. You can feel confident that
we only use sub contractors that meet or exceed our high standards of
quality and service. We will be happy to provide insurance certificates
for any and all of the subs that will be used on your project.

Q. Will there be a mess during the construction? Will I have to clean up?

A. While construction is messy and a disruption to your family, we try
to minimize that inconvenience as much as possible.
We include in All of our contracts:

  • Property protection, as needed for the project.
  • Daily pick up of the site.
  • Debris removal
  • Final clean up! All you have to do is move in! No windows to
    clean, floors to vacuum or mess to deal with. Some projects
    may even be professionally cleaned prior to our departure
    from the project!
  • If requested in your specifications, we'll even move your furnishings in!

Q.
Will you be the lowest bidder for my project?

A.  We encourage our clients to compare the level of service they are
getting for the price they are paying. The level of service we provide
before, during and after the project sets us apart. Low bidders may
not stay in business long. Therefore when you need warranty work
done, your low bidder may well have closed up shop long ago. Leaving
you to pay twice for what you thought was already paid for! Low bids
may not include supervision of your home during construction or the
property protection and clean up that is needed to provide you with a
high quality, low hassle project!

Why should I consider Design/Build?

A. You owe it to yourself and your sanity to have one company
accountable for your entire project. One company that can take your
project from concept to completion. No analyzing 3-6 bids to see if
everything you want is included etc....

Q. Do you charge for an estimate?

A. Our initial consultation is free when all decision makers are present
for the meeting. 1-2 hours at your home. We will give you an estimated
ballpark cost within a range after we have discussed the project with you.
We will then supply you with a design proposal based for the next steps
of the process.

Q.
Are you licensed and insured?

A. Yes! We are State Certified Building Contractors. CBC 1257260. We
use only licensed sub contractors as well. We carry a full complement of
business insurance for your and our protection. Including Business liability,
workman's compensation, auto etc. A certificate of insurance is issued to
you, for your project, after receipt of a signed contract and deposit.

Q.
How do I find the right contractor for my project?

A. Interview the contractors you may be interested in. Ask lots of
questions! Does the contractor listen to your needs for the project? Your
first priority is in finding a contractor that you feel comfortable with. The one
that you can LIVE with for 5 days per week for the duration of your remodel
project. You need to know that you can communicate with this person and
trust them to look out for your best interests while completing the project.
